Raise TheTrainline’s profile in the business, travel and technology press – and specifically support its development of new digital platforms such as the UK’s first Print@Home eTicketing trial.

Solution

Lexis implements a corporate communications programme comprising media relations, issues management and campaign support for TheTrainline. For the eTicketing trial the team proactively sought opportunities to place the positive business story. We worked with the two train operating companies involved to ensure a co-ordinated approach between all stakeholders and project managed all communications. Key media contacts were briefed ahead of the launch and media interviews organised with senior spokespeople at TheTrainline and the two train operating companies.

Result

Despite a busy day for transport news, the launch achieved coverage in the Daily Mail and Metro, PA newswire, two national news websites (The Times and MSN), four trades and six regionals. Following PR and marketing around the launch, there was a significant increase in website traffic to www.thetrainline.com culminating in its busiest day ever.
